HHI 2008

Jeff, Lily, and I returned home yesterday after 8 wonderful days in paradise. It was such a special trip for the three of us. Lily was so much fun and so good the whole trip. Thankfully, she even handled the plane rides with no problem. Each morning we woke up to a silly Lily "tapping" us on the side, back, ribs or face. It thrilled her to wake us up each morning. Then we would have a nice breaka-breaka (breakfast) together and head over to the beach for an early morning stroll. Once Lily found out how much she enjoyed the ocean, our early morning stroller rides turned into morning swims in the ocean. She loved it. She crawled fearlessly head first into the oncoming waves. She loved having the water splash her in the chest and legs! She also made many friends along the way, as she crawled up to any kid she could find to say hi. She even taught a 3 1/2 year-old to not be scared of the ocean. The family had been trying to get their daughter to go in for 4 days, and once she saw little Lily go in, the challenge was on...Katelyn went running into the ocean to her mom's arms with no fear. After our morning beach time, Lily enjoyed showering off at the beach house before we returned to the condo. Luckily, she was usually pretty tired by this time, and Jeff and I were able to stroll her around the boardwalk at the harbor until she fell asleep. At this time we were able to put her under the umbrella at the pool and we relaxed in the sun for a few minutes. In the evening, we would head to dinner around 5:00 and then take strolls around the harbour in the evening. Lily enjoyed seeing all the kids and listening to the sweet sounds of Shannon Tanner. On Tuesday night we watched the fireworks from our balcony and Lily was amazed. She kept saying WOW, coooool, yeah, and lots of clapping. It was so cute! All in all it was a very great trip and we are already looking forward to playing with her there again next summer. It was a very special time for the three of us to be together before the next little one comes along, and I will remember it forever.
