Playing, Sleeping, Growing

Playing, sleeping, growing: this week Lily did lots of all three. Our child is generally happy and playful, but this week she seemed even more so. Weeks ago she began spitting at loved ones as a show of affection (we think), and then this behavior waned. It has now reemerged...with a vengeance. Lily has taken to spitting at all of her family members and her mom and dad's friends, and her PBBBBBBT is only outdone by her Grandpa Tom, who gets the crown for distance.

What's more, LG has enjoyed a couple record naps this week, much to the delight of her babysitters and her parents. These 3-hour-plus snoozes lead us to believe she may be going through a growth spurt....well, that and the fact that she's looking big to us all of a sudden, and friends have said the same. Her feet are now approaching the very end of both her swing and her car seat, and we are at once tickled and sad that our little one is becoming our slightly bigger one.

As part of this growth, and as chronicled in recent posts on this blog, Lilian has little patience for being placed on her back anymore. She prefers to sit and stand...like a big girl. As a result, her playmat has taken a backseat to her Bumbo chair....and now to her jumparoo. That's right, Mom and Dad broke down and made a visit to Target this weekend for more baby accoutrement in an attempt to keep Lily happy and standing without having to hold her constantly. The pictures below don't do Lily's appreciation for her new toy justice...as every time she really got happy she jumped, causing the pictures to blur. Therefore, the shots below are limited to those that weren't blurry...and those in which she didn't look as happy. Nonetheless, you can see how very cool the Rainforest Jumparoo really is...and what a big girl our little girl is becoming.
